Wild Animal Initiative named ACE Top Charity 2022

Animal Charity Evaluators (ACE) has named Wild Animal Initiative a Top Charity for the third year in a row.

ACE is an independent research organization dedicated to identifying the most cost-effective ways to help animals. Top Charity is ACE’s highest award, reserved for the handful of nonprofits where additional donor dollars will go the farthest.

In 2021, ACE’s recommendation was largely based on our success so far in developing an academic field dedicated to wild animal welfare, which ACE’s report said is “an ambitious but promising avenue to create change for wild animals in the longer term.” ACE also found strengths in our strategy and organizational culture.

In past years, ACE has conducted extensive annual analyses of animal charities and based their yearly recommendations on those reports. But because of their confidence in the quality and impact of our work and to reduce the burden of the time and effort of the evaluation process, ACE has decided current Top Charities will maintain their status for another year. Therefore ACE’s 2021 evaluation of Wild Animal Initiative was the basis for our 2022 Top Charity status.

ACE’s continued approval suggests that our work continues to gain steam both in the scientific community and among animal welfare advocates. More than ever, we’re grateful to work in a movement where independent researchers carefully assess our strengths and weaknesses, where donors are willing to bet on ambitious theories of change, and where everyone works together to do as much good for animals as we can.

Based on ACE’s recommendation, will you give to Wild Animal Initiative today to make your donation for animals go the farthest?
